about: Multi-Generational Family Residence | Timeless Residential Interior Design
Designed for three generations living under one roof, Brookdale Avenue is a thoughtfully considered family residence where timeless design, everyday functionality and individual comfort come together. The interiors balance shared family living with private spaces, creating a home designed to remain relevant for generations.
Scope & Services
The Brookdale Avenue residence was approached as a complete interior design project, with careful consideration given to how three generations would experience the home differently. Our scope included interior design, space planning, material and finish selections, custom millwork, lighting design, furniture selections and styling. Each space was developed as part of one cohesive design language while responding to the functional needs and preferences of the family members using it.
The Design Challenge
Designing a home for three generations required a balance between connection and individuality. Shared areas needed to comfortably accommodate everyday family life and larger gatherings, while bedrooms and private spaces needed to feel personal and independent. Rather than designing around short-lived trends, the goal was to establish an interior that could evolve naturally with the family. Proportion, circulation, storage, durability and long-term functionality therefore became equally important to the overall aesthetic.
The Design Solution
A warm, restrained design language connects the residence from one space to another. Shared areas are open, inviting and designed to encourage gathering, while private spaces introduce subtle variations in materials, detailing and character. Custom elements were integrated throughout the home to maximize functionality without visually overwhelming the architecture. The result is a residence that feels cohesive and refined while allowing each generation to experience the home in its own way.
Materials & Features
The material palette focuses on warmth, texture and longevity. Natural wood tones, sophisticated neutral finishes, custom millwork and layered textiles create depth without relying on excessive ornamentation. Architectural lighting and decorative fixtures were carefully considered alongside the finishes to create atmosphere throughout the day. Refined detailing, thoughtful transitions and a consistent material language allow individual rooms to feel distinctive while remaining connected to the overall home.
Designed for Generations
Brookdale Avenue represents our approach to multi-generational residential design: creating homes around the people who live in them. By combining thoughtful space planning with timeless materials and carefully considered details, the residence is designed to support the family's life today while continuing to feel relevant, comfortable and personal for years to come.
